TV license

If you watch TV in UK, you must pay TV licensing. However you watch it, by TV, a laptop, PC or mobile phone, it costs you even if you record TV programs. If you don’t pay a valid license, it probably against the law and you will be punished severely.
On TV Licensing homepage, they say you’ll be prosecuted, appear in court and pay a fine of up to £1,000, the maximum fine £2,000.

They are very scary. They say on their homepage that they have national database, so they know if you have a TV license or not. Moreover, they have a great devices, hand –held detection devices. They can measure the direction and the signal of your TV. Then, they can know if you have license, even if you live in the hardest-to reach place. What a strong obsession they have!

And then, they say that it costs £145.50 for a color and £49.00 for a black and white TV License. After you know the above fact, can you finish paying the license forever? When you compare the two costs, it is wise not to pay a fine, but to pay the license.

By the way, if you watch TV in Japan, you need to pay the NHK license. However, on their homepage they are not about to explain how dreadful they are. It is more difficult to know how you are punished than not to know. Many people don’t pay it. In this situation, it may be natural not to pay it. If NHK officers want to get more the license, they should imitate TV licensing in the UK. However the easy thought may be a characteristic of Japanese.

TV licensing is used for the television. Thanks to it, TV program can keep good quality. However I want them to consider better way to collect it.
